Sanjib Kumar Jha’s, father Krishnanand Jha’s art is like that of no other Mithila painter. Sanjib completed his MA in English. Perhaps that’s not surprising for someone who didn’t set out to be a painter. Sanjib was not happy with his job so he returned to his village and started painting like his father. Sanjib’s father composition was very effective and much of his work consists of paintings of individual Tantric gods, and his family goddess Chinnmasta, a powerful shakti (feminine power) goddess, is worshipped according to Tantra rituals.

Sanjib’s Mithila painting are very different from his father, his paintings are more symbolic and figurative. He has developed his own style. Sanjib normally creates wonders on homemade paper through his folk art Madhubani painting which is appreciated across the globe.
